THE ZAMANSIZ MANIFESTO
Literature for Everyone
Zamansız is an independent magazine of culture, art and literature, committed to literary ethics and founded on original work. It began publishing digitally in 2019 with the conviction that literature belongs to everyone, placing the possibilities of technology at the service of literature and art in order to reach a wide readership.
We believe that literature and art must be accessible to all. In keeping with that belief, a social responsibility project launched in 2022 made the works published in our magazine available to blind and partially sighted readers through an AI-assisted narration system. Because we believe that culture and art find their true meaning only when they can be shared by everyone.
Since our founding we have brought readers original work across many forms — poetry, short fiction, essays, letters, photography, painting, caricature, writing on psychology and interdisciplinary work above all. We hold that art cannot be confined to a single mode of expression; that different disciplines nourish one another and multiply together.
Zamansız takes editorial independence as its founding principle. It is affiliated with no institution, organisation, political formation or commercial structure. Our editorial policy rests on free thought, freedom of expression, literary quality, ethical publishing and cultural plurality.
Language, religion, ethnicity, denomination, gender, identity, worldview and ideological difference play no part in how we assess a work. What matters to us is its originality, its literary value, its artistic quality and the depth of thought it offers the reader.
Supporting original work is fundamental to how we publish. For this reason, work that has already appeared in any print or digital medium is not considered. Zamansız seeks to give visibility to work that will meet its readers for the first time.
Intellectual, legal and ethical responsibility for all published work rests with its author. While Zamansız evaluates work according to editorial criteria, it holds that responsibility for copyright, plagiarism, factual accuracy and the rights of third parties belongs to the author.
In order to sustain an active and current publishing environment, system records are reviewed at intervals. Within this scope, the accounts of writers and artists who have submitted no work for one year may be removed in accordance with our archiving policy.
Zamansız reserves the right to update its editorial policies, ethical principles and submission conditions where it deems necessary. Any such updates are announced through our official channels.
We believe that art and literature are among the most powerful forms of expression — forms that transform the person, deepen thought and give meaning to life. With that belief, we stand alongside the writers, poets and artists who dare to create, to share and to multiply together. Zamansız holds that every original work is a lasting trace left in cultural memory. To preserve those traces, to multiply them and to carry them to future generations is for us not merely an act of publishing but a cultural responsibility.
Zamansız is not only a medium that publishes work; it is an independent cultural space in which writers, poets, artists and thinkers can create freely, share their ideas and multiply together. Our aim is to support work of quality, to open ground for new voices, and to make a lasting contribution to the future of literature and art.
Because we believe that true art and true literature do not surrender to time; they outlast it.
