Gamze Kartal

Gamze Kartal graduated from the Department of Art Education at Ziya Gökalp Faculty of Education, Dicle University. She worked as a visual arts teacher in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education for eight years. Working across painting, photography, digital manipulation, and collage, the artist uses the “hand” as a fundamental expressive form through which she explores the relationships between the body, memory, identity, and perception. Bringing together different techniques, her works question modes of representation and invite viewers to reflect on seeing, remembering, and embodied experience. Alongside her artistic practice, she writes essays on contemporary art, visual culture, and aesthetics. She continues her practice as a London-based visual artist.
